  ABSTRACT
Coccidiosis, caused by Eimeria species is common in 2–4 month old goats, are highly pathogenic in goat kids. The most common clinical findings are dehydration, weakness, weight loss, diarrhea and anemia. The aim of this study is to determinate of tear secretion in goats kids with coccidiosis and healthy ones by utilizing STT. A total of 20 pure hair goats kids aged between 2-4 months, among which 10 were with clinical coccidiosis (group 1, n=10) and 10 were in the healthy conditions (group 2, n=10), in a single farm located at Siirt, Turkey. Fecal samples were examined microscopically for concentrated flotation and the presence of oocysts. STT test was performed on both eyes of healthy and clinical coccidiosis and results were recorded. group 1 Mean ± SD STT values for right and left eye were 5.8 ± 1.75 and 5.1 ± 1.66 mm/min and group 2 Mean ± SD STT values for right and left eye were 13.4 ± 2.37 and 12.5 ± 2.12 mm/min, respectively. Comparison of STT values of the right eyes with left eyes did not differ significantly in both groups (P = 0.271, P = 0.235). Both eye’s STT results combined to compare groups. The mean of group 1 (5.45 ± 1.7 mm/min) was found to be significantly lower than the mean of group 2 (12.95 ± 2.24 mm/min) as a result (P < 0.001). As a result of this study, the amount of tear secretion was determined with the STT and there was statistically significant difference between healthy and goat kids clinical coccidiosis.

  ABSTRACT
The present study was conducted to assess the quality of imported frozen liver sold in Assiut markets, Egypt. A total of 100 samples were randomly collected over a 2 months period (January to March, 2020) from poultry slaughter shops, supermarkets and frozen meat markets. The liver samples were evaluated for chemical indicators of spoilage (pH, TVBN ”Total Volatile base nitrogen”, and TBA ”Thiobarbituric acid”) and some of the nutritional aspects (percentage of moisture, protein, fat, ash, and carbohydrates, as well as, gross energy (Kcal/100g) and cholesterol content (mg/100g), beside levels of iron (mg/100g). The obtained mean values of pH, TVBN (mg/100 g) and TBA (mg/kg) of the examined samples were 6.38 ± 0.01, 25.76 ± 0.44, and 0.65 ± 0.03, respectively. Of the examined samples, 92 % showed pH value exceeded the permissible limits of Egyptian standards; however, 88 % showed TVBN content within the set limit. The mean values of moisture, protein, fat, ash and carbohydrates (%) were 70.54 ± 0.11, 21.64 ± 0.08, 3.58± 0.12, 1.50 ± 0.018, and 2.74 ± 0.11, respectively. The calculated gross energy mean value was of 133.09 ± 1.06 Kcal/100 g. Additionally, the cholesterol and iron content mean values were 130.85 ± 2.17 mg/100 g and 16.07 ± 0.24 mg/100 g, respectively in the examined imported frozen liver samples. In conclusion, imported frozen liver sold in markets of Assiut city Egypt is of fair quality; it should be consumed sporadically and with care of TBARS, cholesterol and iron potential hazards.

  ABSTRACT
Hypercholesterolemia can be defined as the presence of high plasma cholesterol levels, with normal plasma triglycerides, as a consequence of the rise of cholesterol and apolipoprotein B (apoB)-rich lipoproteins, called low-density lipoprotein (LDL) and characterized by very high levels on the blood cholesterol which is a risk factor of cardiovascular health. Medicines which formed from chemical compounds cause serious side effects that cause an imbalance in the body’s functions. Therefore, using of natural substances may be an innovative method for the treatment of diseases, as they do not have any side effects on human health. Bee venom can be used as a drug due to its beneficial effects on many disorders, such as neurological, cardiovascular, hematological, musculoskeletal, and dermatological disorders. In the present work, we found that treatment of hypercholesterolemic rats with bee venom (BV) revealed significant increases in Hb, Hct, and RBCs count and showed a significant increase in PaO2, % O2 saturation, O2 carrying capacity. These results suggest that BV can enhance respiratory functions of blood and can be used in respiratory diseases to enhance the respiration and hematological parameters. Also, BV could be used as a prophylactic agent (food protector) to protect us from the harmful effects of cholesterol.

  ABSTRACT
This study aimed to evaluate the effect of electrical stunning on quality of broiler carcasses. Two hundred of apparently healthy broiler Ross 208, 2kg weight, 37 old day from the same flock were divided into two groups, each group of 100 broiler; the first on slaughtered without stunning while the second one was stunned in water bath stunner at 40 voltage for 10 seconds voltage. The results of this study showed that the sensory evaluation including color, texture, appearance, odor and general acceptance were7, 6, 5, 7, and 6 in non- stunned carcasses while in stunned one they were 8,8,7,7, and 7,5, respectively. The mean total bacterial counts were 4.3x105 ±1.07x105 in non stunned carcasses and 3.30 x105 ±1.01 x 105 in stunned carcasses. The good effect of electrical stunning were occurred in carcasses quality because of grade B carcasses were decreased from 15% in non- stunned to 8%in stunned carcasses due to decrease of defects of brocken bone, red wing, wing bleeding spots, from 5%, 4% and, 4% in non stunned carcasses to 1%, 0% and 1% in stunned on although increase of breast bleeding spots from 2% in no stunned carcasses to 6% in stunned one. There is no detectable effect for low voltage water bath electrical stunning on chemical composition of meat (moisture, fat, protein and ash) with increase of pH. In-addition to non-significant increase in anti-oxidants enzymes of slaughtered carcasses. from these study results, we recommend using the electrical stunning before broiler slaughter as it improves the carcasses quality through decreasing the manufacture defects as broken boned and not affects the chemical composition of carcasses meat.

  ABSTRACT
Infectious serositis is a considerable economic problem in duck industry caused by Riemerella anatipestifer. The current study was conducted to investigate the circulating R. anatipestifer in ducks in Assiut Province and assessing their antimicrobial susceptibility. One-hundred and twenty diseased or freshly dead ducks aging 1-18 weeks were examined. Naturally infected birds showed respiratory, nervous, and locomotor disturbances, and low body weight. R. anatipestifer was detected in 16.6% (20) of birds. Among the bacteriologically positive 20 birds, only 10 could be identified by PCR as R. anatipestifer with a prevalence rate of 8.33%. The sensitivity biogram revealed that all the obtained isolates were sensitive to amoxicillin, doxycycline, and flumequine while resistance to streptomycin, chloramphenicol, ampicillin, erythromycin, spectinomycin, and cephradine was observed. On the basis of MIC, all isolates had 90- 100% sensitivity to doxycycline and amoxicillin, respectively. Experimentally, the isolated R.anatipestifer strains showed pathogenicity to 14-days-old ducklings.

  ABSTRACT
Poultry is an important source of animal protein, as it is considered an essential and effective pillar in filling an important part of the human nutritional needs. The poultry industry has made great progress in recent years and the productivity of poultry has increased significantly with high efficiency as a result of the progress and great efforts that have been made in applied research in various fields science of this industry. During recent years, attention has been paid to using plants with medicinal efficacy as alternates to antibiotics and growth improvement, mostly in the European Union, where antibiotics were banned in the diets of poultry flocks since 2006 due to concerns about increasing microbial resistance to the antibiotics used in poultry diets. The high costs and the possibility of developing microbial resistance to antibiotics has led to an urgent need to use another replacement to antibiotics in poultry feeding, such as the use of probiotics, organic acids, essential oils and phytogenic compounds with medicinal properties for the purpose of maintaining the health of poultry and obtaining the highest production in poultry flocks. The most common feed replacement used in poultry ration are antioxidants, antibacterial materials, enzymes, growth promoters and immune modulators, metabolites or substances that improve the pH and the internal environment of the intestine. Therefore, in this article, we will shed light on the most remarkable feed supplements used in poultry diets for the purpose of improving and increasing production efficiency in poultry field.
