Abstract This thesis aims to develop and validate a new rapid multiresidue/multiclass procedure with liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) according to the guidelines of the European Commission Decision 2002/96/23/EC and 2002/657/EC, as well as, to assess the human health risk from consumption of pasteurized milk containing antibiotic residues. The developed method is based on QuEChERS (Quick, Easy, Cheap, Effective, Rugged and Safe) sample preparation approach.Validation procedures are available to determine the uncertainty of this result, which is taken into account in the decision making process. The estimated dietary exposure based on the data on average consumption of milk and the estimated concentration of the target compounds does not exceed the acceptable daily intake (relevant toxicological reference value). These indicate that pasteurized milk on Egyptian market contain very low levels of antibiotic residues and toxicological risk with regard to consuming of pasteurized milk could not be considered as a public health problem |
