Abstract

Vitamin D and the components of humoral immunity play important roles in human health. Vitamin D plays an immunoregulatory role in both the innate and adaptive immune systems.
Rickets is a disorder that can develop due to a lack of vitamin D, calcium, or phosphate.
The aim of this study was to assess serum immunoglobulins as one of aspects of humeral immunity in children with vitamin D resistant rickets.
Patients and Methods Case-controlstudy was carried out among rickets children with clinical findings of vitamin D resistant rickets or vitamin D deficiency rickets checked at pediatrics department of the Zagazig University hospital from June 2018 to December 2018. This study included 45 patients meeting our inclusion criteria and were categorized according to type of rickets
All subjects of this study were subjected to full history, clinical and laboratory assessment and full clinical examination was done. Laboratory investigations: They were done according to the methods applied in the clinical pathology department and laboratories of Zagazig University hospitals and included: Routine investigations included bone profile and Immunoglobulin.
Our results revealed there is association between IgG and vitamin D in children with vitamin D deficiency.
There is a significant difference between vitamin D deficiency and vitamin D resistant patients with respect to IgA and IgG.
 There is a significant decrease of IgA in vitamin D deficiency rickets and vitamen D resistant rickets.
 There is a significant decrease of IgG in vitamin D deficiency rickets and significant increase with vitamen D resistant rickets .
 There is no significant difference of IgM in the three studied groups.
