Abstract

Mycoplasma gallisepticum (MG) infections in poultry have been associated with a wide range of disease conditions, including respiratory and reproductive systems; in turn, they disturb growth performance and egg production parameters in affected birds. MG is the main etiological agent associated with chronic respiratory disease (CRD) in chickens, turkeys and quails besides infectious sinusitis in turkeys.
This study is designed to conclude the more sensitive time reduced scheme for diagnosis, beside molecular analysis of currently circulating MG among poultry besides, the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) value of the most common antimycoplasmal drugs.
For these purposes a total of 55 poultry flocks of different species (Chickens, Turkeys and Quails) were clinically investigated. The common clinical sings in the investigated poultry flock were the respiratory signs in the form of lacrimation, conjunctivitis, sneezing and coughing in all the investigated flocks with mortality percent range (3 up to 20), (1-4), (4-25) and (2-5) in chicken broiler, chicken layer, turkey poults and quail breeders respectively.
