This study aimed to clarify the state’s economic development role through a comparison to address the state’s role and position in the Islamic economic system with regard to the concept of the state in Western civilization and its role in organizing economic life in order to highlight the alternative development approach by addressing sectarianism, especially with the conflict of opinions previously and currently between Positive doctrines and schools and changing ideas about the limits of that role and areas of state intervention, and its practical repercussions in most Islamic countries.
