Abstract

A Lot Of Women Meet Various Kinds Of Changes With Age, Which Include Physiological And Physical Changes, Such As Change In The Level Of Secretion Of Hormones, And Then Begin The Emergence Of Many Symptoms Such As Weight Gain, Hot Flashes, Cardiovascular Disease, Osteoporosis And Other Symptoms, Which May Force Many Of The Women To Take Hormone Replacement Therapy, Which May Cause Side Effects On The Health.
Thus, This Study Aimed To Determine The Effect Of Soybean As Source Of Phytoestrogens On The Hormonal Balance In Experimental Female Rats. The Present Study Eas Performed On (40) Female ”Wister Albino Rats” (In Premenopausal Age Approximately 10-12 Months). Rats Divided In To Four Groups, First Group (Control Group) Feeding On Standard Diet And Three Experimental Groups Feeding On Standard Diet With Soybean Granules In Per Cents Of (25, 50 And 75%). The Experiment Lasted For 12 Weeks And The Body Weight Were Recorded Every Week, After 6 And 12 Weeks Of Feeding Females Rats Were Fasted Overnight And Blood Samples Were Collected To Determination Of The Lipid Profile, Calcium Hemostats, Alkaline Phosphates Enzyme Activity, Also Determination Of Hormone Level (E2, Fsh, T4, T3, Tsh And Pth).
Results Showed That Feeding On Soybean Meal For 12 Weeks Led To Significant Decrease In Body And Ovary Weight, Serum Blood Lipid Level, E2, Fsh, And T4 Hormone Concentration, While Showed Significant Increase In Absolute And Relative Weight Of Heart, Lung, kidney And Liver. On Contrast Results Showed Significant Increase In Calcium Level, Alkaline Phosphates Enzyme Activity, Pth And T3 Hormone Concentration In Serum. In Addition Results Found Slight But Not Significant Increase In Absolute And Relative Uterus Weight And Tsh Concentration In Group Fed Standard Diet Plus 75% Soybean Only.
Thus, This Study Recommended All Women To Use Soybean In Daily Diet In The Case Of High Ovarian Hormones Before Menopause, Cancer And Hyperlipidemia, Which Contain High Amount Of Isoflavons.
