Abstract Lipids play an inporant role in the nutrition due to its high caloric values as well as synthesis of steroid hormones and other compounds necessary to the body. But,the excess supplement of these fat and oils leads to the elevation of some liver enzymes and body metàbolites and the presence of the undesirable metabolic end products are a positive indications to the liver diseases, kidney affection and even kidény failuie. The treatment of such cases is dependent upon drugs and surgical interference trials are directed nowadays to investigate the role of appreciate diet not oniy in management of such problems but also in their prevention by using diet rich in polyunsaturated fat (e.g fish oil and vegetable oil) rather than saturated fat diet, also by using some food additives such as ascorbic acid which considered as a true antioxidents. Therefore, this work calTied out to study the effect of linseed oil and/or ascorbic acid on liver and kidney functions in male Newzealand rabbits. This include determination the serum (alanin arninotransferase, aspartae amino transferase, alkaline phosphotase, total proteins and their fractions, urea, uricacid and creatinine). Experiment: For perfonning the present 42 male healthy Newzealand rabbits were used. The rabbits were classified into7 groups (6 rats each). The first group recieved basal diet. The second group recieved basal diet supplemented with 25 gm linseed oil /Kg diet. |
