Abstract It is well known that many dru^s can alter the monoainijie oxidase easyme activity in the brain and peripheral tissues, thua producing oia^y Important pharmacological effects. Some dru^s can decrease while others can increase the 1IAO enzyme activity both in-vivo and in-vitro . In this work, an attempt was made to study the effect of two antihy^ertensive drugs namely; captopril uad nifedi-pine oti the IMO enzyme activity of the rabbit^ liver and brain - This work was carried out experimentally on ninety six adult male Oryotalagus Cuntculus (balady) rabbits, weighing from 1 to 1.5 k& body weight . ~ The drugs used were : 1- Captopril (Capoten) tablets each one contains 25 mg. It ffus flu^peaded in 0.5?& G1”11 Acacia mucilage . 2- lilfedipine (Adalat): The pure powder was used In this worjc and it was dissolved In polyethylene glycol (200), In this work both the in-vivo and io-vitro effects of each of the two dru^s on the uJAQ enzyme activity of the liver and brain were studied |
