Abstract The present thesis comprises three chapters . The First one included the introduction . The second chapter is concerned with the experimental part. The third chapter is devoted to the results and discussions and divided into four parts Part 1 Proton – ligand dissociation constants of quinoline azodyes and their substituted derivaties , and metal ligand stability constants of their complexes with bivalent ( Co 2+, Ni 2+, Cu2+ , La 3+ , Uo2 2+ , and Th 4+) metal ions have been determined potentiometrically .. The effect of temperature was studied and the corresponding thermodynamic parameters ( Ag, AH and AS) were derived and discussed Part 2 The effect of substituents , solvent polarities and hydrogen ion concentration on the electronic structure and spectrum of some azo compound derived from 8 – hydroxyqinoline and aromatic amines have been investigated . Further more , the acidity constant values of the compounds have been determined and discussed as a function of the geometric of the substituents Part 3 New polymetric complexes of Cu ( II),. Co (II), Ni (II) and UO2(II) with 5- carboxyphenylazo – 8- hydroxyquinoline ( I.II2) have been prepared and characterizes .Tentative structure for the polymetric complexes are proposed . EPR spectrum of Copper (II) complex has been studied with a view to assigning their stereochemistries .Various FBR parameters have been calculated . The thermal decomposition behavior of the complexes its also discussed |
