Abstract This study was carried out to study the seating of ring portion of a splited ring on three different types of core materials when exposed to moisture. 1. High copper amalgam alloy, Dispersalloy, (Group I). 2. Core build—up Composite (Group II) 3. Ketac Silver (Group III). The core build up was carried out by the help of 10 split rings for each material, allowing easy removal and insertion of its ring during the study to represent the cast crown clinically. Measurements were started for each specimen at four axial sides after setting of the materials, i.e., 24 hours for group I and 15 minutes for groups II and III. Its mean value represent the base line measurement for each material. The lower parts of the specimens with the core build up were dipped in saline solution at 37C and measurements con— tinued after reassembling at 6 hours, 24 hours and daily for ten successive days. The mean value for each specimen of each group at each interval was recorded. |
