Abstract

1. INTRODUCTION
Cotton is the most important crop in Egypt. It was consider as an important source in the national economy through export as raw cotton. Also, spinning and textile industries depend on cotton fiber, beside the cotton seeds are used in many industries such as oil production, soap, forage nutrient and margrin.....etc.
The success of cotton to maintain its place in the national economy depends on the progress in improving its yield in quantity and quality (Cotton cultivated area 533.108 Fad; produce 4330444 kentar)*. In any year, much variations were found in yield quality. These variations in quality resulted from differences in plant varieties, soil, irrigation practices, fertilization, climate, insect damage, length of growing season, expoure of open cotton bolls before harvesting, methods preparation and ginning. Egyptian raw cotton is sold according to variety and classified grade.
Cotton grading is the art of describing the quality of cotton in terms of grade according to the official cotton standards. Classification for grade is based on three factors, i.e., colour appearance and lustuer, trash content and ginning preparation. It is clear that personal estimation play an important role in raw cotton grades.
Raw cotton properties were measured by many apparatus to evaluate the properties and trash percentage beside resulted yarn traits.

Also, we try to know the effect of fiber properties on yarn quality. Recently, cotton trade does not only depend on variety and grade but also on fiber properties measured by modern instrument such as High Volum
