Abstract
Two varieties and one line of roselle were used in
crosses at the farm of the Faculty of Agriculture,El-
Minis University at El-Minia.
These varieties were
”Sudani” ,” Masri” and ”Green”.
The two varieties are locally cultivated and characterized by red coloured sepals and the ”Green” is
a. variant from ”Sudani”. The parents, Fl,F2 and backcross generation were grown during the period from 1977¬
1980.
The mode of inheritance of seven characters, viz. stem colour, stigma colour, anther colour, petals colour,
the arthocyanin concentration in the sepals, the acidity percentage in the sepals and the number fruits, was studied. The proper statistical methods was followed for the analysis of all recorded data
