Abstract

This study was conducted during two consecutive seasons of 2005 and 2006 on Thompson seedless grapevines grown in a private vineyard at Sadat city.
The objective of this study was examining the effect of mineral (ammonium nitrate), organic (Compost El-Neel) and bioforms (Biogen) of N at various ratios on growth, vine nutritional status, berry set %, yield as well as physical and chemical properties of Thompson seedless grapes. Suggesting the best proportion for the three sources that responsible for gaining an economical yield was considered another goal.
Under the experimental and resembling conditions, fertilizing Thompson seedless grapevine with N at 100 g/vine as 150 g ammonium nitrate + 1.25 Kg Compost El-Neel + 25 g Biogen/vine proved to be effective in achieving an economical yield and berries with fair quality.
The increase on the yield in response to application of the recommended treatment (150 g ammonium nitrate + 1.25 Kg Compost El-Neel + 25 g Biogen/vine) over the check treatment (100% mineral) reached 6.44 and 13.79 tons in both seasons, respectively. This increase on the yield gave a net profit of 12108 and 23886 L.E. in the two seasons, respectively.
