Abstract Infected nonunion of the shaft of the tibia is a major problem because standard operations of bone grafting and rigid internal fixation cannot be applied. Cases of a kin loss and marked scarring have the same difficulty. A simple alternative technique had been tried by professor El-Advar with encouraging results. Two pins, one above and one below the site of nonunion were inserted across the tlbial shaft. 1 snail segment of the fibula(1.5 -2 cm) was excised to allow direct contact of the tibial fragments and to correct any angulation present |
