Abstract
This investigation was carried out at the experimental farm of faculty of Agriculture ,minia university during the two seasons 1991/1992 and 1992/1993 for two plant crops and for its ratoons in 1992/1993 and 1993/1994 seasons to study the effect of different planting dates and plant population as well as some weed control treatments on growth , yield and its components of sugar cane.
The experiment was arranged in a split-split plot design with four raplication .the three planting dates i.e march 1, 15and 30were randomly allocated in the in the main plots,wheras the three plant populations i.e 14, 21 and 28 cutting/row occupied at the sub plots.the four weed control treatments i.e unweeded , hand hoeing ,Gesapax combi80 and garlon 4 were ranked in the sub-sub plots .all agriculture practices as recommended by ministry of agriculture were applied
