Abstract The Present Work Deals With The Change Which Might Take Place In Some Physical, Chemical And Mineralogical Characteristics Of The Highly Calcareous Soils Of The Northern Tahreer Province. Results Obtained Show That With Increasing The Land Use Period From 6 To 18 Years, The Clay+Silt Fraction Is Increased. Field Capacity, Wilting Point, Available Moisture, Moisture Equivalent, Water Holding Capacity And Hygroscopic Moisture Are Increased With Increasing Land Use Period. That Also Increases The Soluble Calcium, Magnesium And Sodium. After 10-18 Years Of Land Use, There Is A Noticeable Increase In The Amount Of Soluble Bicarbonate Especially In The Upper Layers. By Increasing The Land Use Period, The Organic Matter Content Gradually Increases To A High Value (0.71%) In The Upper Layer After 18 Years Of Land Use. The Amorphous Materials, Silica And Iron Are Increased By Increasing The Land Use Period. |
