Abstract

This study was divided into two experiments, the first experiment was conducted to study the protein requirement of local goslings. The second experiment was carried out to study the effect of force-feeding on the performance of the local Egyptian geese. First experiment, protein requirement of local goslings, eighty local Egyptian goslings (one week old) were divided into eight groups of 10 goslings each. The birds were kept on floor. They were divided into four treatments of 2 replicates each. Four protein levels were provided(16, 19, 22 and 25%) with one energy level ( 3000 Kcol-cal ME/ kg diel), during five weeks experimental period. There after, all the groups received only 16% protein until the end of the experiment (15 weeks of age). Second experiment effect of force feeding on local geese 24 old Egyptian geese(29 weeks old) were divided into two groups of 12 (6 males +6 females) each crude portein group was fed ad lib on diet containing 16 % CP and 3000 Kcol ME/ kg diet and group 2 was forced-fed on yellow corn grains for 3 weeks. The results obtained from the two experiments were discussed in more details.
