Abstract Physiological studies on the causals (rhizoctonia solani, macrophomina phaseoli and fusarium oxysporum) and their enzymatic activity and the effect of fertilization, fungicides and varietal resistance on disease control are investigated in the present study. The procedure of infection of root and of the tested water-melon varieties with both rhizoctonia solani and macrophomina phaseoli is anatomically studied. From the results obtained, it is found that the lethal effect of the filtrates increases with ageing. |
