Abstract In this thesis, the primary and secondary effects of selection are described for large and small body weight together with the correspondingly indirect effect of such selection on fertility of animals. The behaviour of the same process, more or less, is investigated when applied to larger pecies of livestack. Response to selection is estimated and results obtained indicate that there is inequality the responses selection opposite to rections i.e. an assymnetry of response. |
