Abstract Wilt disease of soybean is studied focusing on the following aspects: 1) isolation of the casual pathogen from different infected plant parts. 2) identification studies. 3) factors affecting the disease incidence; methods of inoculation; air temperature and relative humidity and disease development- 4) effect of disease on crop yield. 5) pectinolytic and cellulolytic activities of the pathogen. 6) sensitivity to different antibiotics. Four bacterial isolates obtained from wilted soybean plants grown in Domietta governorate are kindly supplied by the plant pathology research institute Giza. These isolates are grown on nutrient agar medium for 48 hours at 30c. Bacterial suspensions are used for inoculating soybean variety call and 2 weeks old grown in pots by the prick infection technique. After symptoms appear the bacteria are isolated from infected plants. |
