Abstract
In the present work, the effect upon vegetative and Reproductive growth of egyptian cotton after soaking treatments of the seeds and spraying with sevin is studied. The effect of the insecticide on the germination of seeds of different crops and on early growth stages are also investigated. Studies on the Mitotic effects of several carbamates are carried out. The effects of sevin on the mitosis of both vicia faba and cossypium barbadense are presented. It is found that germinability of seeds of various crops decreases by soaking the seeds in saturated solutIon of sevin. The decrease in germinability is greater as the time of soaking increases. Sevin solution (100ppm.-0.1 ppm.) Causes inhibition of primary root length in vicia faba
