Abstract

Aquaculture is the large-scale production of aquatic organisms. It related to other applied sciences such as forming and fisheries. The origin of aquaculture is not clear, but it was probably first practiced by either the Egyptians, who may have reared tilapia, or the Chinese who grow carp and then spread through Asia and Europe (Landau, 1992).
After the rate of increase in the total production from the world’s fisheries began to decrease in the 1970s, many scientists looked to aquaculture because both the demand for fish and its price. Although aquaculture began to grow rapidly during 1980s, it had never received of scientific attention that had been devoted to Agriculture (Lovell, 1989 and Royce, 1996).
