Abstract
Inherited resistance to activated protein C which caused by factor V gene mutation is a frequent risk factor for venous thrombosis also it seem to be a risk factor for cerebral ischemia.The purpose of this study was to determined the role of APC-R associated with FVL mutation in young patients with history of venous thrombosis and patient with ischemic stroke.Our study were done on 104 individual which divided to three group normal healthy control group (40 individuals) patien with deep vein thrombosis (36 individuals) and patients with cerebral stroke (28 individuals ) all group aged between 24 & 43 years old our study based on exclusion i.e first we choose patients with negative to anticardio lipin antibody test both (IgG & IgM) to pass to the next step which is estimation of activated protein C resistance & finally we choose the positive patients (protein C resistance ratio less than 2.1) to pass to the next test which is assay of FVL by PCR technique .
