Abstract The studies presented in this dissertation aim to development of new, simple, selective and accurate methods for the determination of some environmental pollutants (e.g., copper) and industrial products (e.g. lomefloxacin, levofloxacin) by potentiometric method. The thesis is divided into three chapters. Chepter 1: Deals with general introduction covering the theoretical part. Capter 2: Include the development new methods for the determination of copper. A potentiometric technique depending on the preparation of two PVC membrane sensors, conventional electrode and graphite electrode used for direct potentiometric measurements. The proposed sensors exhibit linear response in the range of 1*10-2 - 1*10-6 M copper with cationic sloped of 29.5±0.3 and 27.8±0.3 mV decade-1 at 25 0Cover the pH range 4-7. Application including analysis of standard samples of copper which collected from industrial company (Egyptian copper company), titration of copper ions with EDTA solution. Chapter 3: Include the fabrication of two sensors for lomefloxacin (LF) and detection in pharmaceuticals. The proposed methods is based on the use of lomefloxacin as ionophore. |
