Abstract
This work was intended to compare the? effect of local hicosteroids either by spray or as i, ntraturbinate injection of yarlor turbinate.
This work was done on 24 patients suffering from allergic Inltis. They were 14 males and 10 females, their age ranged tween 10-45 years. The patients under the study were classified to two groups according to the form of corticosteroid tinlstrated to them.
The first group 12 patients s Treated by only one local injection of long acting corticosteroid ”Diprofos” underneath the mucous membrane of the Injection turblnate on both sides.
i). The second group 12 patients Treated by Beclomethasone dipropionate nasal spray”BBcanase one puff into each nostril twice daily for 4 weeks.
Then the following inveatlgations were performed for every patient included in the work.
a). Urine and stool analysie.
b). Rradiologlcal examination of the paranasal sinuses c). Nasal smears.
After that all patients were examined before test, one week wo weeks and four weeks after test and the results were as the following s In the group treated by intraturbinate injection of diprofos narked relief of nasal obstruction was obtained in 9/12 ” 75% of aseB ” in rhinorrhea 9/12” 75’/, of cases” while marked relief in(sneezing and itching was obtained in 4/12 ” 33.3’/. of cases”.
