Abstract Thirty child with liver cirrhosis and ascites were erial of this study. They were classified into 2 groups rding to the prescence or abscence of functional re Group I : Included 7 patients suffering from osis and ascites with functional renal failure. Group II : Included 23 patients suffering from osis and ascites without functional renal failure. In addition : Ten apparantly normal child were chosen trOls. All cases and control were subjected to the following 1- Full history. 2- Thorough clincial examination. 3- Liver function tests. 4- Kidney function tests. 5- urinary Sodium and potassium. 6- Serum atrial natriuretic factor. 7- Abdominal ultrasongraph. 8- Liver biopsy in most cases. Data were collected and analysied on IBM computer plus program. |
