Abstract
This study was carried out on 40 patients ( 14 males and 26 females having secretory otitis media, as well as 20 subjects ( 11 males and 9 females ) with apparently healthy throat and middle ear .All cases and control subjects included in this study were collected from the E.N.T Department of Tanta University Hospital.A full report was taken from each patient and control subject with special reference to age, duration of the disease, recurrence of otitis media,repeated upper respiratory tract infection, the date of first attack, the date of last antibiotic treatment and previous operations. The diagnosis was confirmed by tympanometry .from each patient and control subject,
