Abstract Prevalence of antibodies to hepatitis C virus in Egyptian patients with schistosomiasis is high and the prevalence increased with progress of disease as well as the presence of its complicated stage, it may be due to parented or other routes of transmission. Furthermore chronic hepatitis C virus infection may contribute to further deterioration of underlying liver disease.The present work was designed to study the prevalence of HCV in patients with liver cirrhosis and schistosomal hepatic fibrosis.The study was carried out on the following three groups-:Group I: 15 patients (3 F and 12 M) bilharzial hepatic fibrosis.Group 11: 15 patients (4 F and 11 M) with liver cirrhosis.Group IE 10 healthy subjects (7 F and 3 M) as contro1,grbup. |
