Abstract
The effects of Schistosom ~ansoniin fection. extend to almost all the organs of the body either directly or indirectly [33. The direct effects of schistosomiasis mansoni are mostly due to ova deposition and subsequent fibrosis especially in the liver and colon [5,6] Pathological changes were detected in other organs irrespective of egg deposition and different speculations were put forwards to explain such lesions, but the immunological mechanism seems to be the most convincing.
