Abstract In this work, the literature was reviewed as regards the anatomy, pathophysiology , pathology, and diagnostic imaging of the nasal and paranasal sinuses. The clinical picture and data gained from both conventional radiography and CT scans of 30 cases presented with nasal and paranasal sinus diseases were presented and discussed . In addition the endoscopic findings of the cases presented with recurrent sinusitis ( 20 cases were also presented and discussed. The reliability of both modalities of radiography and of endoscopy was clearly demonstrated and compared with each other. We conclude that plain film radiography is unsatisfactory because of high error rate, due to superimposition of the other skull bones and soft tissues on the shadows of these sinuses, and due to limited ability to visualize sofk tissues . |
