Abstract Thc prcsent work was unde&alreil t o study the applicabi l i t y of biochemical and serological techniques in d i f f erentation among i s o l a t e s of; -&obact erium liurnefaciin~, Erwini -a carotsvora ( syn . g. carot ovov~ar . ~arotovo_rr), _solanacearum ( v i r u l e n t s t r a i n ) and other non and phytogathogenic bacteria. Two i s o l a t e s of A, tum_efaciens ( i s o l a t e s No. 2 and 3) were i s o l a t e d by the author and i d e n t i f i e d according to t h e i r morphological and c u l t u r a l cliaract erist ics . Other lion arid phytopathogenic bacteria used in the present study, namely; A. tumefacieil~ ( i s o l a t e s iJo, 1, 4, 5, 6 and 7), g. ~carotovora ( i s o l a t e s 30. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 61, rwinia atroseptica (SW. 2. carotovora var. &~sept&), Pseudomonag solanac earum, Pseudo=. garginat a, ,EscJ1er_i&ia . -3c o l i gor.~nebac-et;r ium f a s c i a s , i3acillus s u b t i l is and Sa r c ina -A* . - lutea, were obtained from t h e st oclr c u l t u r e collection of t h e Plant Pathology DepaAment , Faculty of Agriculture, Alexandria Universty and- from Plant Pathology Department, Faculty of Agriculture, Kafr El-Sheikh, Tanta University, Egypt. |
