Abstract
The present thesis comprises-six chapters and the contents are subdivided into introduction, experimental as well as results and discussion. In Chapter I, a literature survey is given on the physicochemical studies of some metal chelates derived from 8- aminoquinoline and 8-hgdroxyquinoline and their derivatives.’ Chapter 11, includes a detailed account about the experimental precedures>methode of preparation and mode of measurements on both prepared four organic ligands and their complexee with transition and rare earth metals in solid and in solutions. Chapter 111, contains results of the study on the organic ligands wether with their discussion. It is subdivided - into two parts. In the first part,the results and discussion of uv absorption spectra and solvent effects were conducted for 8AQ and 8HQ organic ligands. In the second part, the infrared absprp..-- t ;ions pectra results and discussion of all materials under investigation are recorded in the solid state. Complete band assignment is given and interpreted in details.
