Abstract The present work was carried out on 41 patients with schstosomal hepatic fibrosis and normal ladney hction. One patient was initially excluded because of failure of bilateral visualization of both renal arteries. The remaining 40 patients were 21 males (52.5%) and 19 females (47.5%). They were classified into four groups as follow: 10 patients with schistosomal hepatomegaly (they were 5 males [50%] and 5 females [50%] and their ages ranged between 12 years and 20 years with a mean of 16.1 years *2.6), 10 patients with schistosomal hepatosplenomegaly (they were 6 males [60%] and 4 females [40%] and their ages ranged between 28 years and 41 years with a mean of 33.8 years * 4.1), 10 patients with schistosomal shrunken liver and splenomegaly (they were 5 males [50%] and 5 females [50%] and their ages ranged between 34 years and 55 years with a mean of 45.3 years * 6.09) and 10 patients with schistosomal shrunken liver, splenomegaly and ascites (they were 5 males [50%] and 5 females [50%] and their ages ranged between 35 years and 62 years with ameanof48.9 years* 9.63). A group of healthy sujects were taken as a control group. They were 10 males and 10 females. Their ages ranged between 29 years and 56 years with a mean of 42.8 years * 12.7. |
