Abstract The organo tin compounds were compared with six recent organophosphorus insecticides against the Egyptian cotton leaf worm, Spodoptera littoralis (Boisd.), during 1973, 1974 seaSODS successively under field conditions. The residual effectiveness or persistence of the compounds was evaluated against the 2-nd and the 4th larval instar, mortality being measured after 0, 4, 8 and 12 days intervals from spraying. The DT50 values. for the different insecticides are considered as an index for the residual toxicity. he results of toxicity showed that Du-Ter was more toxic than Plictran and both organo tin compounds were less effective than other organophosphorus compounds. Phosvel showed significantly highest larval mortality under field conditions, while Nuvacron was the least toxic compound |
