Abstract
Hyponatremia ( HN ) is a common electrolyte disorder defined as a serum sodium level of less than 136 mmol / 1 . It is associated with mortality and morbidity risks due to development of hyponatraemic encephalopathy and neurogenic pulmonary edema . Moreover its rapid correction also carries a high risk of development of serious cerebral demyelinating disorder known as osmotic demyelination syndrome (ODS)
