Abstract

Objectives: Investigate the effect of humic acid, mannanoligosaccharide (Bio-Mos) compared with zinc bacitracin on productive and reproductive performance of Inshas hens. Methods & Results: At 28 weeks of age two hundred and forty hens of Inshas strain were devided at random into eight equal groups each of three replicates of 10 hens plus 1 cock. The experimental treatments were as follows: 1- Basal diet (without any additives and served as control). 2- Basal diet + 0.1 % humic acid. 3- Basal diet + 0.2 % humic acid. 4- Basal diet + 0.3 % humic acid. 5- Basal diet + 0.1 % Bio-Mos. 6- Basal diet + 0.2 % Bio-Mos. 7- Basal diet + 0.3 % Bio-Mos. 8- Basal diet + 500 mg zinc bacitracin /kg diet. By adding the feed additive it enhanced the following parameters: Live body weight, feed consumption, feed conversion efficiency and egg production. Egg quality (exterior and interior egg quality). Fertility, hatchability and chick weight at hatch. Semen quality (semen volume, sperm motility %, sperm cell concentration (x106/ml) and sperm abnormal and dead). Some blood constituents (total protein, albumin, globulin, cholesterol, total Lipids, AST, ALT, uric acid, creatinine and hematological parameters (total RBC’s and WBC’s counts, differential leukocytic count, hematocrite %, H / L ratio). Immune response to NDV. Microbial count and intestinal pH. Digestibility of nutrients. Morphometric analysis of the gut (villi height, villi thickness and villi surface area). Egg chemical analysis (egg cholesterol and egg protein %). Histopathology (intestine, spleen and liver). Conclusion: The results show that 0.2% humic acid or 0.1% Bio-Mos can be used as a natural compounds alternative to antibiotics promoters.
