Abstract

Two field experiments were conducted during of 2005and 2006 seasons at Tag El-Ezz Research Station, Dakahlia Governorate, Egypt. The experiments aimed to study the effects of gibberellic acid, ,ascorbic acid, salicylic acid or kinetin for increasing the tolerance of rice plants grown in salin soils to find out the appropriate behavior of two rice cultivars under some growth substances and salinity conditions. The expermintal data show that salinity stress in saline soil depressed greatly all growth parameters as well as yield and its components of rice plant of the two rice cultivars.Sensitive rice cultivar was more affected by salinity stress than tolerant one.It could be concluded that applied growth substances(GA3,Kinten,Ascorbic acid and Salicylic acid) could partially mitigate or counter act the harmful effects of salinity stress on growth and yield of rice plant .It could be also show that GA3 and Salicylic acid were most effective in this respect. ¬Conclusion It could be use natural plant antioxidant materials such as Ascorbic acid, Salicylic acid, GA3 and kinetin reduced harmful effects of salinity levels on growth, yield and biochemical constituents in order to obtain the largest grain yield under salinity conditions.
