Abstract

In chapter (1), general introductions for the different methods which are used in solving the problem of radiative transfer equation are presented. In chapter (2), the two-region Milne problem, defining the steady-state monoenergetic linear transport problem for two adjoint homogeneous source-free half space is considered with particle source coming from infinity in the positive half space. In chapter (3), the radiative transfer problem in an absorbing, scattering and homogeneous semi-infinite medium with Rayleigh scattering subject to an externally incident radiation is. In chapter (4), particle transport problem in an absorbing, scattering and homogeneous semi-infinite medium with pure-triplet scattering subject to externally incident radiation is considered. In chapter (5), the radiative transfer equation in an absorbing, scattering and homogeneous finite medium with pure-triplet scattering and reflecting boundaries is considered.
