Abstract The present work describes the synthesis of some oxime derivatives as ligands to form complexes with vanadyl(II) and copper(II) ions. The elucidation of the chemical formula, site of coordination and geometry of these complexes was carried out by elemental analysis, spectra (I.R, U.V-visible, 1HNMR, mass and ESR) and thermal analysis. Also, a flotation technique was used to study the efficiency of some ligands towards Cu(II) ions. A recommended procedure was achieved by studying some parameters like pH, concentration of Cu(II), ligand and oleic acid, temperature, ionic strength and foreign ions. The method was applied for the separation of Cu(II) ions from neutral samples. Finally, a mechanism of flotation technique was suggested. |
