Abstract The experimental work of the present study was conducted atthe Poultry Farm, Faculty of Agriculture. Mansoura University, Egypt,during the period elapsed between April and Oecember 1996The objeclive of the study was to evaluate the nutritional valueof the substitution of raw full·fat soybeans (RSS) for soybean mealSSM) in diets for growing ancl laying local Gimmlzah chickens.Experimental birds and diets:A lotal nllmber of 350 one-day old Glmmlzah female chicks were used, and randomly distributed to 3 grOUDS (TI, T2 and TJ) ofthree repl icates of 40 chicks each. The birds were reared and kept under similar environmental conditlons, and received their respective experimental diets during the growing and laying periods according to the fOllowing SChedule: 1. during the staring and growing periods: AU experimental diets wefe offered to the birds in a peueted form. a, from 0 10 6 weeks of age’ the control group (T I) was fed on a diet containing SSM as the main source of plant protein, which was substituted by RSB at replacement ratio of 50% or 75% in diets of the other two groups of T”2 and T l , respectIvely, Diets 82 were made isonitrogenous of about 200/0 crude protein with energy contents (ME) of 2914, 2926 and 2990 kcaUkg for T:, T1 and T3, respectively.b. Form 6 10 14 weeks of age: the experimental groups of birds were ’ continued on the same experimental diets with the exception of the diets were made isonitrogenous of about 16% crude protein, with energy contents (ME) of 2794, 29 t9and2938 kcallkg fo r TI, T2 and T3, respectively. |
