Abstract The aim of the present investigation was to study the blood parasites which may infest four of the most common Egyptian fresh water fishes Chrysichthys auratus, Clarias lazera, Synodontis schall and Tilapia zillii. Out of the examined 739 fishes 388 (52.50%) were found infested with blood parasites. The infestation rate was highest in Chrysichthys auratus (68.97%) followed by Clarias lazera (50.78%) and Synodontis schall (50%) while in Tilapia zillii was (21.88%). |
