Abstract •The result showed that presented of evidence about the presence of heterosis in pepper, although the average of most F1 hybrids exceeded the mid-parents but didn’t exceeded the high parent. • Hot pepper traits are controlled by both additive and dominance genetic variance but the additive variance play the main role in inheritance of most traits. In view of the results of this investigation three recommendation would be declared: 1. selection and self breeding in the segregate generation of F1 hybrid of pepper to obtain inbred lines to use it as commercial cultivars. 2. use the inbred lines in the hybridization as a breeding program for improving the yield traits or breeding program to improve hot pepper and consider it as a source of genetic divergence for the breeder. 3. suggesting for growers to use the superior F1 hybrids which obtained by crossing P2×P6, P3×P4 and P3×P6 which close to the check cultivars (F1 hybrid) in total yield. Finally, use the hybridization as a breeding program for improving the yield traits. |
