Abstract The thesis is divided into three parts: Part I : Phytochemical and biological investigation of Asparagus stipularis Forssk. roots 1.Phytochemical investigation of Asparagus stipularis Forssk. roots. resulted in the isolation and structure elucidation of eight compounds. 2.MTT cytotoxic assay of compound A1 (Aspastipuline I) revealed a moderate cytotoxic activity against MCF7. Part II :Phytochemical and biological investigation of Cassia sophera L. fruits 1.Phytochemical investigation of Cassia sophera L. fruits resulted in the isolation and structure elucidation of ten compounds. 2.ABTS antioxidant assay of certain extracts and isolated compounds from Cassia sophera L. fruits. Part III : Phytochemical and biological investigation of Chorisia crispiflora HBK. leaves and flowers 1.Chemical investigation of C. crispiflora leaves and flowers resulted in the isolation and structure elucidation of the following compounds. 2.Antifungal, Antitumor and Hepatoprotective activity were performed to different extracts and isolated compound of Chorisia crispiflora leaves. |
