Abstract
This thesis is concerned with using the fundamentals of statistical physics in a simple model to calculate selected magnetic properties for uniaxial and cubic magnetic systems. The thesis contains a summary, three chapters, conclusion and a list of references. The first chapter is devoted to basics of magnetism needed for the present study. The model and calculation are presented in chapter2.The third last chapter includes the results and discussion of the thesis. We have found that the simple model we used is capable of producing all the major features of the magnetization curves of the materials studied e.g. Fe, Ni and the fcc phase of cobalt. In addition a study of the angular dependence of the magnetization distribution enhances the understanding of the magnetization process when linked to the magnetization curves. The Comparison of our results with available experimental data showed a good agreement that supports the used method.
