Abstract The aim of the present study was to evaluate the situation of fascioliasis among different slaughter animals at Assiut Governorat with special reference to locality, age and seasonal variation and consequently evaluate the economic and public health importance of this disease. For this purpose the carcases of different food animals (Cattle, Buffaloe, Sheep and Goat). Slaughtered at Assiut governorate were subjected for examination. The overall prevalence of fasciola infestation among animals was 1.55%. The prevalence rate was higher in cattle (5.3%) than in buffaloes (3.59%). |
