Abstract The present study was carried out to detect the parasites present in Tilapia nilotica and Clarias lazera and it’s public health importance where fish acts as an intermediate host for such parasites which may infect man and fish eating animals during consumption of fish muscles. Moreover, the histological changes on muscular tissues of fish infected with encysted metacercariae were carried out. In addition the effect of different treatments (chilling, freezing, grilling and different dilution of citric acid) on the viability of encysted metacercariae infested Tilapia nilotica and Clarias lazera were studied. |
