Abstract Since the discovery of H. pylori in gastric biopsies from patients with chronic active gastritis and peptic ulcer disease, many studies have confirmed a close association between the presence of H. pylori and the gastric and duodenal ulcers. Detailed studies of the gastric mucosa in populations with a high risk of developing gastric cancer have described a series of lesions which may represent a continuum of change from normal to carcinoma, starting with chronic active gastritis which may progress to chronic atrophic gastritis with intestinal metaplasia and finally to dysplasia and gastric carcinoma, based on these data we designed our study to study the relationship between H. pylori and intestinal metaphase. This study was performed on 56 patients; 37 males and 19 females, every patient was subjected to the following: (1) full history and clinical examination (2) fibreoptic . Endoscopic examination and 2 antral biopsies were taken (3) Rapid urease test (4) Histopathologic examination of one anural biopsy using C.V. |
