Abstract The thesis is devoted for developing new methods for determination of some nitrogen containing drugs of pharmaceutical interest in pharmaceutical preparations and spiked biological fluids. These drugs are cefadroxil, cefoperazone sodium, vancomycin HCl and labetalol HCl. The thesis is divided into four parts: Part I: This part provides a general introduction about the importance of nitrogen atom and the classification of the antibiotics and adrenergic blockers. Part II: This part is devoted for the fluorometric determination of labetalol HCl and cefadroxil using 2cyanoacetamide in 33% ammonia solution. Part III: This part is devoted for developing a spectrophotometric method for the determination of the three phenolic antibiotics (cefadroxil, cefoperazone sod. and vancomycin HCl) via oxidative coupling with 3methyl2benzothiazolinone hydrazone HCl (MBTH) Part IV: This part is devoted for developing a simple kinetic spectrophotometric method for the determination of cefadroxil and cefoperazone sodium.
