Abstract The aim of the present study was designed to assess the PNH status in a cohort of patients with diverse bone marrow failure syndromes. To achieve this objective we measured DAF (CD55) expression on granulocytes using flowcytometry based technique in 34 patients with bone marrow failure disorders including 18 patients with AA, 6 patients with MDS and 10 patients with acute leukemia in addition to 15 healthy subjects as a reference group (control). Other investigations were done as C.B.C, differential white blood cells count, reticulocytic count, Haemosiderine in urine. There was significant decrease of DAF (CD55) expression in patients with AA, MDS and acute leukaemia compared to controls. In the present study, there was significant negative correlation between DAF expression and each of esinophil, and reticulocytic % in bone marrow failure patients. |
