Abstract The neonatal period is very critical to the infant , This be ceuse it is the period of trerrsition from the dependant: rauterine to the independant extra_uterine life, The aim of the present work is to study the causes and associated with neonatal morbidity and mortality, To accomplish such aim a descriptive study of 2000 was carried out In the community pert of the study 1000 neonates were chosen from a randomly selected urban and rural areas. In the hospital part of the study 1000 hospitalized neonates were included, in a trial to cornperenit: finding of the two parts. questionnaire was planned to cover the itictitl of information, including the socioeconomic data about the family, biological characteristics and reproductive history of the mother as well as the health status of the neonate 1- Neonatal morbidity and mortality in the community part of the study L12. 6 % of neclntr experienced a variety of morbid conditions. Asphyxia . respiratory infections gastro_enteritis. jaundice infection and low birth weight were the leading of morbidity T’ctenus low birth weight and jaundice Associated with high case fatality rates. while in the hospital . pertelf the study ,the most encountered mor’bidi tywen,the rmie asphyxia jaundice, respiretorydietress. |
